Victims of Brumadinho Series – Maria Regina talks about Priscila Silva

.

When the dam broke in Brumadinho, 272 lives were interrupted in what is considered the biggest work accident in Brazil. But the word “accident” is a procedural formality. In fact, the police investigations and the actions of the Public Ministry proved that there was a serious omission and that the rupture was an announced tragedy that covered Brumadinho with mud and sadness.

One of the main objectives of the Brumadinho Legacy Project is the fight for justice, in an attempt to reinforce the culture of the value of human life and the preservation of the environment. It is a way of honoring the memory of those who died in the collapse of the Córrego do Feijão Mine Dam. The value of life, always first.

Today, we want to invite you to get to know three of the 272 stories interrupted on 01/25/2019. We want to tell you that Sirlei really liked beetroot cake, that Flaviano was a passionate fan of Atlético Mineiro and that Priscila was a clarinetist. That they, as all the other victims, had their dreams interrupted by an announced accident.

It is to warn about the human and economic cost of certain activities that the Brumadinho Legacy Project runs the “Tomorrow may be late” campaign. Accidents like the one in Brumadinho can be avoided, but actions for safe work need to be carried out today.
